Inside a Project Baldor Presentation

ProjectBaldor Presentation
When people think about Holocaust education, they often picture history textbooks or grainy black-and-white photos. At ProjectBaldor, we do things differently. Our presentations are designed to be immersive, emotional, and unforgettable — because we believe the lessons of the Holocaust are not just history, they’re human stories that still shape our world today.
History in Their Hands: The ID Card Experience
When students walk in, they’re each handed an ID card, each with the name, photo and description of a real person who lived during the Holocaust.
At first, it’s just a name, a face, a few details. But as the presentation unfolds, they start to realize that they only have half of the whole story.
Did this person survive? Were they hidden? Did they make it to safety?
At the very end, they find out. For some, it’s a moment of relief, but for others it's grief. For everyone, it’s personal.
We Prioritize Stories
Each presentation contains a diverse range of real-life survivor experiences, each of them connecting to one another, ultimately giving students a picture of not only what the Holocaust looked like, but what it felt like. It isn't just a retelling of dates and events, it’s about people: their courage, choices, losses, and resilience.
Why?
People connect to stories more deeply than to facts alone. It becomes real.
We Connect History to Today
Between grounding the audience in the personal stories, we explore the historical context: the rise of antisemitism, the role of propaganda, and the way ordinary people became bystanders or perpetrators.
But we don’t stop in 1945. We draw direct lines to current issues: whether it's hate speech online, antisemitism in schools, and the importance of standing up for others.
Our goal is to help participants recognize patterns and take action in their own communities.
Learning Beyond the Lecture
Once the main talk ends, students are invited to choose how they want to continue their learning:
Walk through the Holocaust timeline — an immersive exhibit that feels like watching history unfold in real time.
Reflection prompts — a space for writing, thinking, and processing the emotional impact of what they’ve heard.
Discover their ID card’s fate — returning to the person they’ve “carried” throughout the session and learning exactly what happened to them.
This approach empowers students to take ownership of their learning and deepen their understanding in ways that resonate most with them.
We Make it Interactive
Throughout the presentation there are activities and discussion prompts so students are not merely listening, but actively participating in their learning.
Throughout the lecture we actively ask questions, engage in discussion and show videos along with other resources to keep students interested in the content.
Additionally, physical materials such as the Holocaust timeline, ID cards, and reflection area actively allow students to connect to the content. Instead of simply hearing about it in a lecture
We Leave a Lasting Impression
" I learned that the Holocaust was not just a historical event, but one of the greatest human tragedies, showing how far hatred and discrimination can go when left unchecked." — Student, 2025
If you want your students, team, or community to truly understand the lessons of the Holocaust, and how they apply today, invite ProjectBaldor to speak. We don’t just tell history. We make it unforgettable.
